Well, here we are. The last several weeks before Christmas have arrived and then we roll right into New Years Eve. This is the time of year when everything happens at a quicker pace. Especially in Florida, where the influx of snowbirds and vacationers from all over the country arrive, trying to escape the bitter cold of winter.
I have already noticed the additional traffic on the road, and because of the nice weather, many of you have been taking the opportunity to ride your motorcycle. Unfortunately, I have also noticed more distracted driving. People pulling out in front of others, tail-gating, texting, speeding, people going too slow, and much more.
This is the time of year when Defensive Driving is critical. Please refrain from driving if you have consumed alcohol. The consequences can be devastating. Alcohol related accidents and deaths jump significantly this time of year. Practice patience as you navigate in traffic that will probably be heavier than other times of the year. Be sure to maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. Try to stay off the road during those peak traffic times.
This is a joyous time of year to spend with family and friends. Please use caution and remember to stay safe.
